Event Description

Regular admission rates apply for all special events; adults, $7.75, senior citizens, $6.50, youth, $6.00. Seasonal hours (April 25-October 31) are as follows; 9:00-4:30 Wednesday-Saturday & 12:00-4:30 Sunday *Closed Monday and Tuesday.

When the Dust Settles: Taming the West – April 25 & 26, 2009 - Grand Opening event will feature musical performances by the Diamond W Wranglers and Walnut River String Band. Fast draw competition, great food and plenty of kid's activities!

The Blue and the Gray: Brother against Brother - May 30 & 31, 2009 - The role of Kansas in the American Civil War was a vital one.

Celebrate America - June 27 & 28, 2009 - Celebrate Independence Day 1870's style.

Women of the West - August 8 & 9, 2009 - The role of women in the West is often overlooked.

Harvest of Progress: Education Day - Oct. 2, 2009 -

Let's Make Merry: A Victorian Christmas - Dec. 4, 5 & 11, 12, 2009 - Christmas Dinner -Guests have the option of pre-booking a special dinner held at the Empire House. There is an additional charge for the dinner and advance reservations are required.
