  - 6, 2009\n\nFort Concho's largest annual event on Friday-Sunday, Dec
 ember 4 - 6, 2009, as the forty acres and twenty-four buildings at the
  landmark are filled with shopping, entertainment, food and beverage, 
 displays, living history, period entertainment, children's workshops, 
 and many special events.\n\nOver 1000 volunteers make this annual even
 t the traditional start of the holiday season in San Angelo and West T
 exas. Also ongoing that weekend are the opening ceremonies for the Con
 cho Christmas Lights Celebration, special exhibits at the nearby San A
 ngelo Museum of Fine Arts and San Angelo Railway Museum, plus evening 
 shopping and programs with the downtown merchants.\n\nEach day at Fort
  Concho visitors can experience the Winter Rendezvous, campsites with 
 hundreds of re-enactors and period traders who bring the 1800s alive w
 ith music, drills, and numerous displays. Inside the fort's many origi
 nal buildings merchants and artisans from across Texas and the Southwe
 st offer many items to start your Christmas shopping. A Food Court wil
 l offer various food options; strolling musicians and staged musical a
 ctivity will keep the grounds lively, and the Children's Areas will pr
 ovide many crafts and activities free for all youngsters.\n\nDuring da
 ylight hours the many troops on the Parade Field will drill, ride, and
  shoot their weapons, and the artillery demonstrations (blanks-of cour
 se) will catch your attention.\n\nGrounds admissions are $5 for adults
 ; $3 for seniors, and $2 for children 6-12.\nHours are Friday 3-9 pm; 
 Saturday: 10 am-8 pm; and Sunday 11 am-5 pm.\n\nFor more information v
